About Our School:
Our school is located in the easternmost part of Caotun Town, next to Fugui Village of Guoxing Township. The Zhongtan Highway passes through the road 50 meters away from school gate, and the traffic is convenient and quiet. The murmuring Wu River surrounds the JoJo Peak, and the land of Shuang Dong Village. Back to the mountain and facing the water, it’s a wonderful place with beautiful scenery. Looking at the JoJo Peak in the distance, mountains surround us, the four seasons have different scenery in the morning and dusk, like a paradise. Students living here naturally cultivate personality traits of happiness, health and caring for nature.
History of the school:
Apr. 01, 1938 Tucheng public School Shuang Dong Branch was set up, and Chaoqing Li was the director of the branch, which was the predecessor of Shuang Dong Elementary School
Apr. 04, 1944 Qisan Chen took over as president and became an
independent Shuang Dong National school
Apr. 01, 1945 Establishment of youth school
Aug. 01, 1968 Renamed as Shuang Dong National Elementary School
School Features:
1.Diversified teaching and evaluation: With Grade 1 -9 Curriculum Guidelines we strive to diversify teaching, and make use of various activities and experiences to deepen students' learning.
2.Actively promote school-based curriculum: We study the advantages and disadvantages of schools and communities, and try to find opportunities for development. Therefore, we should start from the local community, then cultivate students' ability of self-learning, and finally achieve the goal of connecting with the world or even leading the trend.
3.Promote friendly greening and sustainable campus management: We actively promote school greening, maintain natural landscape and ecology, and cooperate with ecological observation and old tree rescue activities, to cultivate students' life attitude of caring for the environment; The campus plan we focuses is based on students and daily life users and emphasizes the affinity and friendliness of the campus.
4.Cultivating healthy and optimistic students: We handle various ball games to encourage students' sports ethos, and propaganda hygiene and health to avoid the occurrence of various infectious diseases. So all students are healthy, lively, optimistic and enterprising. And many people come to school for sports on holidays.
5. Strengthen the interaction between community and school: The school-based curriculum goes deep into the community to teach students to be proud of Shuang Dong. We host the family day to invite parents to participate school’s activities, introduce the support of parents in the community, and set up the community classrooms.
6. Strengthen artistic accomplishment and cultivate gentle character: We promote the flute movement and set up a rhythm band. The regularly publication will enhance students' willingness to contact and learn.
7. A lot of books to encourage reading on campus: We promote the reading movement and encourage students to express their opinions. So we always actively strive for fund to purchase books.
